8 Foods to boost your child's immunity


Children are exposed to various germs and infections as their immune system is getting ready for the big battle gradually. The immune system of our body consists of cells, organs, etc. that act as a defense mechanism in fighting foreign bodies that attack our system. If your child falls sick often, it's time to make a change in the child's diet by including foods that can boost their immune system. Let's take a quick look at the foods that are a must for kids.


Green leafy vegetables:

Kids usually avoid green leafy vegetables and prefer to eat potatoes most of the time. But kids should be made to eat these as they boost immunity and also are sources of zinc, iron, etc. You simply have to find new ideas to make these green leafy vegetables like spinach, lettuce, cabbage part of their diet.


Berries:

Nuts:

Mushrooms:

Mushrooms contain zinc and also exhibit antibacterial properties. You can make mushroom gravy or a roll to entice the kids to eat.


Garlic:

This helps in fighting bacteria and viruses. You can try adding garlic in curries and soup to boost the child's immune system.


Turmeric:

This is actually one of the best foods that can fight against infections. Add a pinch of turmeric in all the dishes you prepare.  It is also used to provide relief from cold.


Eggs:

These are a rich source of Vitamin D and also act as an immunity booster. You can simply give boiled eggs with a topping of pepper and salt or try the delicious omelette.


Apart from all these foods that can boost immunity, children should reduce their intake of sugar, have enough sleep and also have to be stress-free. Exercising regularly can make them fit and also healthy. Kids prefer to eat chocolates, ice creams and junk foods but we should make them understand the benefits of healthy eating habits for a healthy body and mind.
